Panama holiday 16 days tailor made

Panama holiday 16 days tailor made

Day 1. This example itinerary starts with your arrival at Tocumen International Airport. A driver will welcome you and bring you to your hotel in the colonial part of Panama City, Casco Viejo. Here you will stay for 2 nights

Day 2. After breakfast, an English speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel and will accompany you for the day. This guide will show you the different sides of Panama City and will tell you about the Panamanians and their history and culture. First you will bring a visit to the Miraflores lock which is one of the 3 locks of the Panama Canal, the eighth wonder of the world. Here you will learn all about this Canal that made Panama famous- its history, the current construction and also the nature in the national park which covers a big part of the Panama Canal. With a bit of luck you will be able to see a big container ship pass through the locks from the terrace on the third floor.

The next stop will be at the ruins of Panama la vieja, where the city was originally founded before the famous pirate “Sir“ Henry Morgan left it in ashes. After Panama la vieja we will visit the colonial part of town, Casco Viejo. On the way to Casco Viejo you will pass some of the most modern buildings, any larger contrast would be hard to imagine. You will explore Casco Viejo by foot with the guide. You will also visit the military base Albrook, Balboa and the Amador causeway amongst others. At the end of the afternoon, you will return to your hotel in Casco Viejo.

Day 3 After breakfast, our driver will pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the car rental company where you can pick up the reserved rental car. Because Panama is the least populated country of Central America and the roads are in relatively good condition, it’s a perfect argentina to travel with a rental car at your own pace.

After receiving your rental car it will take about 2 hours to reach El Valle de Anton. El Valle de Anton is a special destination because the whole village lies in an extinct volcano crater, formed around 300,000 years ago. The lush and tropical vegetation makes it a great place for beautiful hiking. But besides hiking you can go mountain biking, bird watching, do a canopy tour, and visit the small market and the hot springs.

Day 5 The next destination is the Azuero Peninsula, also known as the main cultural centre of Panama. It seems like time stood still in the little villages you will travel through today. Here you will experience the authentic Panama. The coming two night you will stay here at a beautiful boutique hotel at the coast.
