Panama sailing in San Blas tailor made

Panama sailing in San Blas tailor made

The below itinerary is an example itinerary, which we can customize to suit your wishes.

Day 1. This module starts with an early transfer (at around 04.15 in the morning) from the hotel in Panama City to Albrook airport. From here, it’s a 45 minute flight to San Blas. After arrival at the small airstrip at San Blas, the captain will welcome you and the sail adventure can begin.

The coming days your stay on board is on full board base, including alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages (in moderation) and snacks.

Day 2 + 3 While sailing under a warm sun with a pleasant breeze you will discover islands with golden beaches and a beautiful underwater world. If you want you can learn how to navigate the sailboat, but you can also just relax and enjoy the breathtaking sights. You will meet the Guna Indians who love to tell you about their culture and traditions. The Guna Indians make a living by selling coconuts, fishing and trading with the nearby islands. They are great craftsmen and are famous for making molas (textile art), which can be admired and bought in the different villages. They make a great souvenir.

The water at San Blas is so crystal clear, you might spot dolphins, rays and even small sharks from the boat.

Since 1983, the San Blas islands are part of the Comarca Guna Yala. This means it is an autonomous region within Panama where the Guna Yala indians have their own laws and rules. For example,

one of the rules is that you can only go there where your own breath takes you. This means scuba diving is not allowed, while snorkeling is. For non Guna Indians (including Panamanians) it’s not allowed to buy or have properties within the Comarca.

Day 4 Today it is time to say goodbye to your captain and hostess. In the morning you will fly back to Panama City, a big contrast to San Blas. On arrival at Albrook airport, we have organized a transfer to your hotel within the city. The arrival at your hotel is the end of this module.
